What’s in this documentation

  • Getting Started: install the app, connect NYT, and run your first session.
  • Using Newswire: tabs, reading list, and snapshots.
  • Troubleshooting: the common failure modes during beta.

Where updates come from

Newswire has two kinds of updates:

  1. UI updates (faster): the app loads a hosted UI, so UI improvements can ship without a new download.
  2. Desktop updates (slower): native features (login, snapshot capture, packaging) require a new app build.

During beta, we’ll sometimes ask you to download a new build when a native fix is required.
